How to Create a Class on Raklet?

Create a class as a special type of event with an instructor and a room. Classes show a Book a spot button, the instructor and the student list on the event page, and appear in the weekly timetable.

If your organization runs classes, such as yoga sessions, dance lessons, language courses or training workshops, you can create them as a Class instead of a regular event.

A class works like an event, but it also has an instructor and a room, and its page shows a Book a spot button, the instructor and the list of students. Classes also appear in the weekly timetable in the member portal.

Create a Class

  1. Go to the Events section in your Administrator Panel and click +Add Event at the upper right corner.

  2. Enter the Class Name, for example "Yoga" or "Beginner Pilates".

  3. Under Type, select Class.

  4. Two new fields appear: Instructors and Room.

Add the Instructor and the Room

  • Instructors: start typing a name and pick the instructor from your contacts. Instructors are regular contacts in your Raklet account, so add the instructor as a contact first if they are not there yet. You can select more than one instructor for the same class.

  • Room: type the name of the room or space where the class takes place, for example "Studio A". The room is shown on the class page and in the timetable.

Fill in the Class Details

The rest of the form works the same way as for any other event:

  • Categories and description: choose one or more categories and describe the class, for example the level, what to bring or who it is for.

  • Date and time: set the start and end date of the class and the time zone.

  • Recurring Event: most classes repeat every week. Enable Recurring Event, choose the weekly pattern and the day, and set when the series ends. See How to Create Recurring Events on Raklet? for details.

  • Event Type and address: choose Venue and enter the address, or Online for virtual classes.

  • Available Tickets: set Limited and enter the number of spots if the class has a capacity. For recurring classes, the capacity applies to each session separately.

  • Visibility: choose whether the class is Public, Member Only or Plan Subscribers Only.

Click Save when you are done.

Add Spots (Tickets)

After saving, add at least one ticket type so members can book. You can add a free, paid or donation ticket, and restrict it to members only if you wish. For a recurring class, you will be asked whether the ticket applies to all sessions in the series or only one.

Once the tickets are in place, publish the class to make it visible to members.

How Members See the Class

On the member side, a class looks like an event page with a few differences:

  • The registration button reads Book a spot.

  • The instructor and the room are shown on the class page.

  • Registered attendees are listed as students.

  • The class appears in the weekly timetable with its day, time, room and instructor, and members can filter the timetable by instructor.

Things to Know

  • You can switch an existing event to a class by editing it and changing the Type to Class; the Instructors and Room fields will then appear.

  • Instructors must exist as contacts in your account before you can select them.

  • Members book one session at a time. If a member wants to attend several sessions of a recurring class, they book each one separately.

  • Classes support everything regular events do: coupons, reminders, check-in, participant lists and reports.
