One powerful feature that we’ve built into our membership management platform at Raklet is discussion boards.
Discussion boards are one of the most popular ways people interact and engage online. By adding it to your membership software, you provide a space for your members to interact.
On Raklet, you can create and customize boards however you wish. You can decide who can see the board, post or comment on it, and many other options.
Create Boards
Go to your admin panel and click Social Network on the menu. Click Boards at the top of the page.
Click the New Boards button.
Add an Image to your Board from your Media Gallery.
Name your Board and add a Description.
Choose who can see the board, making it public or restricting it to your members.
Choose who can post and comment on the board.
Control the kinds of posts and comments that get sent to the board by requiring that all new posts or comments be approved before they are posted.
Please note that if you want to restrict your board visibility to "Plan Subscribers Only", then you will need at least a Professional plan.
Later, if you downgrade to a plan lower than the Professional one, your board visibility settings will stay the same until you change it.
The "Columns" field will help you decide if you want to show your posts with a single, two, or three column. In the example below, the columns are set as three columns.
If you enable the toggle for "Is visible on the feed?", then the posts that are under that board, will also be visible on the Feed.
You can also decide if you want to enable/disable likes, comments, and share options.
Once your board is created, you can start adding posts to it.
Add Posts
Open your board and click the Add button from the Posts section.
Add your cover image from the Media Gallery, the title of your post, and the content.
You can embed links to your post.
You can add the post to whichever board you like with the categories you want. You can even add the post to multiple boards.
If your post is not linked to a board, it is visible in the feed as default.
If a post is linked to a board, but the board is not visible on the feed, then the post will be available under the board, but it won’t be visible on the feed.
If a post is linked to more than one board and at least one of the boards is visible on the feed, then the post will be available on the feed.
For like-comment-share visibilities, you can choose "Inherit From Board" which means that these settings will be copying the same settings from the board that the post goes under. However, you can also change these settings as enabled/disabled.
You can add file attachments to the post that your readers can download.
You can set up the visibility as public or members only.
For the Members Only option, you can also limit the post access to specific membership plans.
In order to publish your post, you will need to update the status from Draft to Published and Save. You can also choose statuses between draft, published, pending, declined, reported, or removed.
