How to Update Your Own Member Profile?

A step-by-step guide for members on updating their profile photo, contact info, privacy, notifications, and account settings.

Keeping your profile up to date helps your organization stay in touch with you and helps other members find and recognize you. This guide walks you through everything you can update on your own — from your name and photo to your contact details, privacy settings, and notifications.

Find Your Profile

1. Log in to your organization's member portal (the web address usually looks like yourorganization.raklet.org).

2. Click your profile photo in the top navigation bar. This takes you to your My Profile page. On mobile, tap the profile icon to open the account menu, then choose Profile.

Update Your Photo, Name, and About Info

1. On your My Profile page, hover over (or tap) your profile photo and select Update Photo. You can upload a new picture, crop it, or remove your current one.

2. To change your name, title, or bio, click Edit Profile (the pencil icon next to your name). Update your First Name, Last Name, Title, and About, then save.

Update Your Contact Info

Still on your My Profile page, you'll see sections for Email, Phone, and Address. For each one you can:

  • Click Add to enter a new email, phone number, or address

  • Edit or delete an existing entry

  • Set which one is your primary contact method

Adding a new email address sends you a verification link — you'll need to confirm it before it can be set as your primary email.

If your organization has added any extra questions for members (custom fields), you'll see them listed under Other on your profile with their own Edit link. If a field doesn't have an Edit link, your organization has made it view-only for members.

Go to Full Settings

For more detailed changes, click Edit Profile from your profile page, or go directly to Settings. You'll find four tabs:

Profile

Update your basic information (name, title, about, language, gender, birth date), your social network links (website, Facebook, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Instagram), and, if your organization uses the Job Board, your job-seeking status. You can also add optional details like blood type and marital status.

Privacy

Control who can see your profile with the Profile Visibility setting:

  • Members Only — visible to other members of your organization

  • Public — visible to anyone

  • Hidden — not visible in the member directory

You can also choose whether to share your work history, education, email, phone, and address with other members. If you set your visibility to Hidden, these individual sharing options turn off automatically. In this same tab you can turn private messages, SMS, and email notifications from your organization on or off.

Notifications

Choose how you want to hear about likes, comments, private messages, event reminders, and new posts — by email, in-app, or on mobile. You can also manage notifications for any community boards or newsletters you're subscribed to.

Account

Here you can:

  • See your login email (verified status shown)

  • Click Change Password to set a new password

  • Click Export to download a copy of your profile data

  • Request account deletion from the Danger Zone (this submits a deletion request rather than deleting instantly)

Quick Recap

  1. Log in and click your profile photo to open My Profile

  2. Update your photo, name, and about info right from that page

  3. Add or edit your email, phone, and address

  4. Head to Settings for social links, privacy, notifications, and account options

  5. Save your changes — you'll see a confirmation once they're applied
